[TIDK] 69 – Sold Viktor For Drugs

Scarlett cried her eyes out and fell asleep again. It wasn’t until the afternoon that Scarlett woke and quickly rose to her feet.

“Isaac?”

She was in bed, a blanket covering her, and Isaac was still sitting on a chair by the window, looking out.

When Scarlett called his name, Isaac grinned at her. “Did you sleep well?”

Scarlett looked into his eyes and rushed to hug Isaac’s neck. More than half of the threads in his eyes had disappeared, and his wine-coloured pupils showed.

“I can see it a little better than last night. And now the pain is gone,” Isaac said.

“Really? How much do you see?”

“Well, it’s so blurry that I can’t say anything yet.… It’ll be better.,” Isaac said, grinning.

Scarlett looked at Isaac with a curious and happy expression.

Isaac soon spoke, “Aren’t my eyes disgusting?”

“It’s not disgusting at all. And it’s a lot less gruesome than the first time.”

“I think these are healing my eyes. And it’s rather cute.”

Scarlett laughed merrily at the playful remark. Then she stood up and said, “I just remembered! Let’s go eat something delicious.”

“Should we?”

“Yes, Liv’s bakery sells grilled sandwiches for lunch. They are scrumptious. Let’s go eat them.”

“Oh, it sounds delicious.”

Isaac followed Scarlett, who took the lead in delight.

At first, Isaac tried to walk with his own eyes, but it was more dangerous than when he closed his eyes because he couldn’t distinguish things. Eventually, Isaac wrapped his eyes again with a bandage and stammered his cane to move on.

Meanwhile, Scarlett, whose energy had depleted the day before, ran down the stairs with a jump.

Andrei, welcoming a guest appearing to be a noble lady, saw her and clicked his tongue.

He asked the customer, “Don’t tell me you don’t think she’s the boss, do you?”

The customer laughed at the joke while Scarlett ran over and hugged Andrei. She then asked the customer. “Can I hug you, too?

“Something good seems to be going on, right?

“Yes, a lot.”

“If so, yes.”

Scarlett hugged the customer once and then let her go because the customer laughed cheerfully.

After a while, Isaac dressed neatly, walked down the stairs, and said to Andrei. “You seem to be having a hard time with my sister, Mr Andrei.”

“I’m glad someone knows.”

As the two men talked and made fun of her, Scarlett alternately slapped them one by one in a playful manner. Grabbing hold of Isaac, she then rushed him into Liv’s bakery giddily.

Liv was chatting with customers while selling sandwiches when Scarlett called her.

Liv, seeing Scarlett and Isaac blindfolded with bandages, froze. Not only she but also other female guests. Scarlett whispered to Isaac.

“I’m going to suffer because of you in the future.”

“Why?”

“There’s a chance.”

Scarlett spoke and burst into an unbearably happy smile again.

For a few days, Isaac recovered at Scarlett’s house. The pace was slow, but the mere fact that his eyes didn’t deteriorate pleased the two. Isaac lived in total darkness for a long time, so he was perfectly satisfied with the way he was. She anxiously asked as Isaac left the store early in the morning for raft work.

“Why don’t you get some more rest?”

But Isaac shook his head. “It’s because I want to work.”

“Hm… be careful.”

Isaac smiled and nodded.

She’d be worried if it was in the past, but the Isaac that Scarlett saw was strong. Scarlett also knew that rafting had become a very important part of his life, and he had been stuck in the attic for a long time.

Isaac looked back at Scarlett with his eyes once again. If he looked close enough at others’ faces, he could see them ever so slightly. Happy with the fact, Isaac couldn’t stop laughing.

Scarlett smiled and turned away from Isaac. “Stop looking.”

“It’s just amazing that I can see you no matter how many times I look at you.”

Isaac stumbled in the middle of his speech. Then, Scarlett frowned and, embarrassed, quickly ran forward.

After Isaac left, Scarlett squatted helplessly in front of the store. “Really.”

While she was so happy to see Isaac’s eyes, pain poured out from a corner of her heart.

“I really did sell Viktor for drugs….”

//cry, girl, maybe you really did. Viktor is the most pitiful, self-sacrificing ML ever – ahem, the translator is a Viktor fan, though I do love all the male protagonists in here. Hint hint, the title, ‘Things I Didn’t Know Because It Was The First Time’ refers to their story; but very much reflects Viktor – so many things he had the right to know; should have been told, but he never came to know them, and that led to certain decisions on his part, ok cut spoiler ; w;
