[TIDK] 65 – Ruined Eyes

He soon went to the wall and pulled out a fire hatchet. Then he told Scarlett. “Get out of here!”

No matter how drunk Arnold Crimson was walking around, he was confident that he would eventually succeed the family. So, he quickly realised the seriousness of this problem.

It was only one part. But the problem was that one component had a different specification. It wasn’t a matter of fixing only one thing. The inside of the watch needed to be torn apart and restored. If the money had been spent, Abel would eventually go bankrupt, and his credibility with his watches would have fallen to the ground, unable to be revived. Surprised by Arnold’s desperate behaviour, Scarlett stepped forward to protect the staff.

“We need to talk.”

“I’m telling you to get out!”

“Calm down. All right. I won’t go around talking about this. I mean, I am simply trying to have a conversation...”

Arnold snatched Scarlett by the collar. Then he pushed her against the glass, pressed her down with force, and placed the hatchet on her neck.

“It’s not a conversation! Do you know what you’re talking about? Are you trying to make us bankrupt?”

Scarlett’s eyes widened in dismay at his actions. The staff also tried to stop him but quickly backed down as the hatchet pressed down on her neck.

Scarlett’s eyes were filled with fear and contempt for Arnold. The look made Arnold feel like a screw was missing from his head.

Scarlett’s presence was like a weed. In Arnold’s eyes, Isaac was an idiot. It was the worst combination for siblings.

After Arnold and Marilyn beat him up, he would always come running, excited to play. And if they were nice to him, he would laugh. It was such stupidity that one could almost be affectionate instead of predatory.

A person who only gave one-sidedly was bound to be considered an idiot.

“Do you know why your life is like that? It’s because you’re stupid. It’s because you twisted your life with your own hands,” Arnold said.

He despised them. Even if he had no knowledge about watches, What was wrong with that? He would look down on people.

He had lost his mind for a moment. Even if he were impulsive, killing them like this wouldn’t be good. On top of that, he felt a sense of joy in killing Scarlett with his own hands.

Arnold grinned and put the hatchet over Scarlett’s eyes, perhaps because he had gone crazy.

“Should I blind you?”

“Vice President!”

“Come closer. Be my audience. It’s better to go to jail for a while than to go bankrupt, right? Besides, do you think there’s anything good about this girl?”

Arnold knew how to make Scarlett quiet at once.

He wasn’t interested till now, but now that he thought about it, he was. Arnold looked at Scarlett and said, “I know you’re nice to Isaac, but you’re not. Did you see Isaac’s eyes?”

“… What’s wrong with his eyes?”

“See, you don’t even know.”

“What do you mean?”

“What do you mean? They’re a mess, completely ruined.”
