[TIDK] 64 – Crimson Headquarters

Scarlett put the watch on a purple cushion and placed it in a box chosen by Andrei.

Andrei said as he looked at Scarlett. “You look like a mole.”

“Mole?”

“Yes, you can’t look ahead and keep going straight.”

Scarlett laughed embarrassedly. “Can’t I do that?”

“No, I think that’s your attractive point.”

“You’re the only one to say that.”

Andrei went back to work, and  looked around the store for a moment and immediately saw Scarlett’s back.

Her figure oddly struck him.

“Let’s do my job.”

He talked to himself and went back into the store. These days he was feeling a little confused about his work.

Scarlett stopped her bike in front of the headquarters on 3rd Avenue, which only handled the best of Crimson’s watches.

Not only the Crimson Watch headquarters but also shops of all kinds of famous and luxurious brands were gathered on the street.

Famous for its beautiful streets, it was also a place where the wealthy came from other countries to squander and spend.

Scarlett looked at the main store door, surrounded by subtle lighting. The glass wall of the three-story giant building had a sign:, “Abel Crimson Watch Store Headquarters.”

It was natural for people to recognise the person whose name was on this headquarters as the heir to practical watch technology. Scarlett dreamed of displaying her watches in one of the main stores if Isaac safely inherited the Crimson family.

Scarlett took the box and entered the main store.

This was the will of her parents. Making a long-lasting watch that could be passed on to one’s grandchildren.

If more fake Crimson watches went out in the name of Abel Crimson, the Crimson family’s spokesperson and head watchmaker, the complaints would eventually increase and the Crimson family’s stigma would grow.

More and more people were entrusting repairs one after another.

It was a problem that would eventually explode. This would be a great profit in the short run, but in the long run, it was a mountain that the Crimson family must traverse.

Scarlett opened the store and entered.

When the daughter of the late Crimson Head entered, the main store became quiet.

Some veterans had worked for thirty years, and some were hired by Scarlett’s parents. Maybe that was why, but she felt at ease when she entered this place.

The staff’s name tags were engraved with stars, and the more stars there were, the more experienced they were. Scarlett presented the box to Mael, the employee with the most stars among them.

“There’s a problem with the watch they sell here.”

A white-haired employee smiled when he received the box. “Long time no see.”

“Oh... yes. Do you remember me?”

“You’re saying the obvious.”

Scarlett relaxed a little when Mael spoke in a soft tone. “You came when you were really young.”

 “ I couldn’t come back.”

“Why couldn’t you come?”

“I’m afraid of my uncle.”

“I see.” Mael replied, but he and the other staff did not take it seriously, they looked back and smiled.

Abel was not on good terms with Scarlett and her brother; he took away their property and fired engineers who turned against him, but not to those who he needed, like Mael.

The watch itself was made by the Crimson family. Mael also knew it, but it was the jewels embedded that highlighted the craftsmanship. He opened the lid of the watch.

“We don’t have watch technology, but I’ve been seeing it for 40 years. I’ve seen them that  many times.”

“Yes, I know.”

“It seems to me that this watch is completely fine.”

Scarlett’s expression brightened at Mael’s words. And the other staff next to him also checked the watch and gave a similar answer.

Soon thereafter, said Louise, a rather feisty worker. “So, what do you want to do, Miss Scarlett?”

“You have to recall all the watches with Version 5 parts that you sold in my uncle’s name.”

At her words, customers at the watch store looked back at Scarlett. The staff turned serious. This could close the main office.

When the employees could not answer, Arnold Crimson, the eldest son of Abel, who only was vice president in name at the headquarters, and came in drunk daily, entered.

“Vice President.”

The staff knew Arnold’s personality, so they surrounded Scarlett and protected her.

Arnold said to Scarlett, frowning. “What are you up to here?”

Scarlett then looked at the other employees. But soon, Louise took the lead.

“I think the parts of the watch are wrong. Lady Scarlett’s watch is a well-made one.”

Arnold frowned. “Scarlett never learned how to craft a watch properly. You’re saying she knows more about watches than a maid?”

“I learned how to make a watch. Just the way my parents made them.”

Mael politely asked Arnold. “Who taught you how to make Crimson parts?” The question distorted Arnold’s face.
