The prince beat and kicked Alana until she coughed up blood. She even had her fingernails ripped out. She was abused - no, she was tortured. The prince did not hit her in the face but on her body. She had horrific blue bruises. Her white skin was painfully discoloured all over.”

Taking a deep breath, he continued. “Alana’s hand doesn’t move because of this torture by Prince Juanito. If I didn’t kill him, Alana would have been killed. -Yes, I killed him. But Alana took the blame. The murder of royalty is punished unconditionally by execution. Unless it is by the same royal family. I was prepared for the execution, but Alana advised the king that she had killed him. Then she turned over her dress and showed her assaulted body to the king and my father. The decision the king made was “to make it all go away”. There was no torture. Prince Juanito wasn’t killed, he wasn’t dead. Of course, Alana wasn’t injured. As a result, the prince was treated as missing while he was in the palace, and since then I’ve been Alana’s hands. That was six years ago.”

Luciano stopped sipping the glass of wine. He remembered the words of Alana’s agent, Benito.

“Miss isn’t in an environment where she’s happy. She doesn’t care for herself, wants to die. But I don’t know why. I’d like to know. Well, I can say that she isn’t in an environment where she feels happy. She’s weak and handicapped. And she has bad eyesight. Oh, and don’t tell anyone of her poor eyesight, okay? Why did I decide to pick it up? 

• I've had my eye on this for a while! Actually, when I first chose TVL to translate back in 2020, it was a toss-up between SCR and TVL. They are both published by Sonya, who are known for their heart-wrenching, angst, mature rofans. Since 2020, there have only been 3 JP novels that I’ve liked enough to tl from start to finish (and I read like 2 a week on my kindle): TVL, SCR, and another one, but one at a time XD. I was still managing Word Excerpt at that time and had 20+ projects under my belt + staff, so I could only afford to commit to one ;;

• Romeo and Juliet is my second-fav Shakespeare (behind Merchant of Venice), but instead of Montague vs Capulets it's Leveaux vs Fontana (there's family feuding > <, good politics in the plot + romance) 

• I'm a sucker for European-esque historical settings (if you couldn't already tell by my projects)

• I love the enemies to lovers trope (Pride and Prejudice, Bridgerton/The Duke and I, The Hating Game, TVL), and this time it's Enemies->Lovers->Enemies->Lovers LOL.

• Lots of snusnu the 'ah ah ah' kind hehe

• Gooorgeeeousss art (like OMG /O) vvvv

• The whole world is against their love, and I like seeing couples fight through the hardships
