[TKOSINM] 137 - Mulliman’s Interference

“This is the Grand Duke of Kristen’s residence. This is my first time coming here.”

“It’s wider and more complicated than you think, so don’t lose your way and follow along.”

While the other assistants battled for time, Mulliman and another assistant, who arrived at the Grand Duchy, hurried to the ceremonial hall.

Even if he went now, he should be able to arrive until the ring was exchanged. Fortunately, the two were able to make their way to the wedding hall without getting lost. But, as if the ceremony had already begun, the door was firmly shut. Now, how could he deliver this without being so obvious?

As he was agonising something strange caught Mulliman’s eyes. Men in black masks were loitering around the hall. Beside them was the priest who officiated today. Just by looking at them, he could tell they were the ones who came to ruin the wedding.

“What should we do?”

Ryun also found black-masked men and sought advice from Mulliman. Mulliman answered Ryun’s question directly, as if to say, why would he ask such a question in the first place.

“Take care of it.” 

“Huh? Me?”

“Then what will the old me do?”

Ryun grumbled at Mulliman’s words, but slowly approached the men who were leaving the wedding hall.

The moment the masked man turned around, feeling the presence of Ryun too late, Ryun put his finger on the man’s forehead.

“Sleep for a while.”

As the pink smoke fell, the eyes of the men widened and then closed gently. It was sleep magic. Afterwards, Ryun, who had removed the assassins with mobile magic, pointed at the stunned priest and asked.

“What about this priest? Judging by it, he seems to be the officiant.”

“Take off his clothes and hide them out of sight.”

Ryun grumbled at Mulliman’s words, but did what he told him to do.

“I brought it, but… you don’t mean to wear this, do you?” 

“Why not?” 

“But Master, you’re not a god-assigned body. It is against the laws of the Empire.”

“Who said that only priests are entrusted to the gods? If you believe in God, you can say that you are a body entrusted to God.”

“…Master, you don’t believe in God.” 

“Trust me for a second, huh? Don’t talk, give it to me.”

It was absurd, but what could Ryun do? Reluctantly, Ryun held out the priest’s official robe. Mulliman wore a white robe, pulled his hair back, and went inside through the back door.

Was this really okay? The assistant took a deep breath and looked around so that the sleeping priest would not wake up.

There were two doors in the private hall. One was outside, the other was inside. The outer and inner gates were connected by a long corridor, and a large hall was revealed only after passing through the inner gate.

Irene and Noel stood in front of the inner door and waited at the entrance. However, no matter how much time passed, the ceremonial priest’s statement was not heard.

Noel intuitively knew something was wrong.
