[TIDK] 98 – Drunken Behaviour

Marina began to get irritated when she couldn’t have her way.

“It’s frustrating that you’re here. You’re the one who stopped me from enjoying this life. When did I say I wanted to give birth to something like you? That’s not enough, and you even abandoned me in a monastery!”

The party stopped for a while as she shouted, and people looked at them.

When Viktor grabbed her arm to drag her out, Marina lifted a bottle, smashed it, and threw it at him. It scratched Viktor’s neck and shattered on the floor.

People were surprised, but the men turned a blind eye to what they were doing by drinking or smoking. His men knew that Viktor would have avoided it if he wanted to.

Soon after, the servants who came out gathered and overpowered Marina and dragged her out.

Viktor took out his handkerchief and wrapped it around his neck.

Nina came running and asked. “Viktor, are you alright?”

“I’m fine.”

He said as he searched his pocket and opened his empty hand, and then one of the sailors approached and gave out a cigarette.

The sailor lit it when Viktor raised the butt, “Can I go ahead?”

“Take care on your way.”

“Will do.”

Viktor turned around and got out of there. He didn’t drink enough today but felt drunk because he was bleeding.

Scarlett, who was working late at night at her cosy house on the second floor of the 7th Avenue watch store, went down the stairs in surprise at the knock on the door.

What’s going on this time at night?

She wondered if Isaac had caused a problem. Her heart was pounding as she pushed the curtain aside and looked outside to see Viktor.

As soon as she saw his face, Scarlett felt relief and anxiety. She opened the door and said,

“Are you crazy? At this hour… What’s wrong with your neck?”

When Scarlett looked at the wound on his neck, Viktor stepped forward and stumbled on the wall. He reeked strongly of alcohol.

Scarlett hurried to assist him but was caught by Viktor and dragged into his arms.

“I couldn’t think of our divorced relationship because I was surprised by your wound,” Scarlett said.

“...”

“Put this down and come up. You must be crazy.”

Scarlett locked the door. She then climbed the stairs first. Viktor followed suit and sat on the chair she was pointing to.

Scarlett pulled out the first aid kit from under her bed and opened it.

“I don’t think medicine is needed,” Viktor murmured.

“Tweezers, disinfectant alcohol, and medicine for the wound,” Scarlett said, ignoring him.

Then, she turned on the gas light and pulled out some pieces of glass that were visible near the wound.

“It’s hard to look closely at the wound; it might hurt.”

“...”

“No matter how drunk you are, how can you walk around like this all this time?”

Viktor tilted his head and saw Scarlett close to him. She concentrated on dressing the wound for a while, grabbed the disinfectant, closed her eyes, and shook her head.

“I can’t do this. It’ll hurt too much. Hurry up and go see your doctor.”

“Scarlett.”

The whole time he was silent and finally opened his mouth.

“I told you I would leave when I want to.”

Scarlett paused.

Viktor pulled her arm and brought her to his lap. Scarlett stumbled and sank into his chest as he pulled her.

Viktor’s drunken behaviour was rough. Scarlett spoke, embarrassed.

“Ouch, it hurts.”

Viktor frowned and let go.

“Are you sick?”

Scarlett had never seen Viktor look this embarrassed. After a while, he opened his mouth.

“I’ve always done it in bed with you, roughly. Did it hurt back then?”

“...”

Perhaps for the husband, it was relaxing.

But being caught in the hands of someone who trained all day long made Scarlett feel like he was binding her with steel.

There were times when it hurt just to grasp his arm; he was more uncontrollable in bed.

Viktor opened his mouth. “Why aren’t you talking?”

“Because I loved you then.”

“Why didn’t you say anything?”

Scarlett smiled despondently at his question.

“At that time, I was afraid you’d abandon me. Because you’ve always made me nervous.”

Frozen for a while, Viktor stood up and stumbled to help Scarlett.

However, Viktor stepped back and tried to pull himself together as if breathing heavily.

He looked in the mirror, checked his reflection, and arranged his messy hair. Then he left the store soon after.

In front of the store, Blythe ran around looking for Viktor and got off the carriage.

“Master!”

Viktor immediately got on the carriage and ordered, “Let’s go.”

“That’s...”

“Right now.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Blythe was forced to close the carriage door. Then he bowed to Scarlett in front of the store and left in the carriage.
