[TIDK] 45 – Abel’s Punishment

“No, the weight is the same.”

It is more of a problem if the weight is the same - Because the material is different. Do you have an older Version 5 watch?”

Anna and Tom paused at her words. Then Tom rushed to get Stan, the artisan, in the other room.

Currently, seven artisans engineered the watches in Factory 1, three of whom have worked since the former heads were alive.

“See, that's right. We all knew it was weird.” Stan said quietly.

It was true that all three craftsmen here noticed that the parts from the master room had changed since Abel took over.

“At first, Stan discovered it, and the seniors went and argued with Mr Abel. The components were odd.” Anna said to Scarlett.

“All four of the original seniors were fired. The seniors told us not to say anything...”

Tom blurted out the end of the sentence. The three craftsmen looked ashamed and sad.

“I'll go into the master room. We'll have to check the material to find out. I remember the master room password.” Scarlett said.

Scarlett knew she would be in danger if caught, but the three could not stop her.

“Remember, Scarlett. There is divine power in Ruse Falls. Use the gravel that withstands that force. You must use a stone in water. No stones outside the water.”

Scarlett looked at the stone. However, it was impossible to tell whether it was a stone brought from underwater or from outside.

As she was checking, a voice was heard outside.

“Oh, no, boss!”

It was Anna's voice.

Scarlett's body collapsed as she turned around in a shudder.

Scarlett barely raised her head and found Abel standing. He shook off the staff who held him back, locked the door, cursed, looked down at Scarlett and pulled up his sleeves.

“You're out of your mind. A girl is like a stray cat.”

"The parts are……wrong.”

“Shut up!”

There was anger in Abel's eyes.

"Who can prove I'm right or your parents are right?"

Scarlett was also angry, so her eyes, which had been submissive until now, were sharpened. This was a matter of her parents' pride.

“There's a reason for every part my parents made! There's no reason to change it unless there's a reason to improve it! The Crimson components fit into a watch meant to be worn for life...”

“Shut up! I'm telling you to shut up!”

Abel screamed in a rage.

After illegally taking his brother's, he had to show that he was also capable of running the Crimson family business in order for him to own the factory entirely. So it was a critical managerial aspect that he could make version 5 components. However, if it had been wrong, there would have been a problem with legitimacy.

And the bigger problem was that as soon as it became known that there was a problem with the parts, people would come to refund the watch. If that happened, there was a possibility that Abel Crimson would go bankrupt.

It was hours later that Scarlett came to her senses.

She stood up and looked around. It was so dark that she couldn't see anything. She felt for the wall, found the stairs, and stepped up on them after walking around them. It was a cellar considering that there was a wooden board on it.

Scarlett pounded the board.

“Is anyone out there?”

But the sound didn't return.

“Hello...Uncle, can you... I'm sorry."

Scarlett said, but the answer still did nothing. The darkness and confined space where nothing was visible were enough to panic even those with mental tenacity.

Scarlett knocked on the door again, trembling. Scarlett's voice violently shook when there was no response, no matter how hard she beat it.

“Help me...”

She closed her mouth with her hands and began to cry.

Suddenly the air felt thin. She curled on the stairs and cried so she didn't feel the wooden boards opening. Eventually, the person went down the stairs, grabbed her arm and raised Scarlett's head.

Viktor Dumfelt stood in front of her.

“Come here.”
