167 – Mechanic Lady Saves The Day
“Turn off the switch,” Scarlett said.
Harold hurriedly switched off the grinder, and at the same time, the grinder, which was spinning loudly, stopped.
“Oh, it’s stopped…”
“Darn it, Johnny! What are you doing? Get out of here!”
Johnny, who was shivering and crying on the grinder floor as he shouted outside, hurriedly climbed up.
As soon as he managed to get out of the grinder, Johnny crouched on the ground and began to cry. Other pirates also slumped in their seats.
Sean sat down together and covered his face with his hands, and told Harold.
“…See? The factory would have flown away if I hadn’t kidnapped that mechanic lady.”
“That’s what you’re proud of, man!”
Harold raised himself after hitting Sean on the back of the head with a palm the size of a pot lid. And as he walked toward Scarlett, blood was dripping from her hands. Just now, she got a wound on her hand while tearing off the wedge, and she thought she got hurt while she was fixing the engine urgently.
“Argh, mechanic! Blood!”
Scarlett muttered belatedly at the sight of the blood in her palm. “I’m tired all of a sudden.….”
At the end of the remark, Scarlett fell to the floor.

When she regained consciousness, she immediately noticed where she was lying. It was in a huge stack of hay that she had seen earlier. It was warm because there was still heat left.
Scarlett raised her upper body, touching the floor, and found a bandage wrapped around her hand. But she flopped down again because she had no energy to move.
Then a woman her age jumped inside. She also had a gold eye. “Drink some water, lady. You will get dehydrated.”
Scarlett reached out a little and picked up the cup of water. She remembered her name was Aisha, having heard someone scream her name earlier.
Aisha said as Scarlett took a sip of water and moistened her dry mouth. “Viktor Dumfelt has sent his men in; they are negotiating outside.”
”Oh…”
Scarlett answered and took a sip of water, which was very cold and sweet. Aisha, who read her facial expression change, said.
“It’s water from my island. There’s power in this water, too.”
“The water is delicious.”
“It’s good for healing wounds.” Aisha stretched and folded her hands.
Scarlett held the cup in her hands and said.
“There are so many amazing drugs on the island of pirates…”….”
“Because the word “pirate island” came from your mouth, miss. I hate to say this after kidnapping you, but do you know why we became pirates?”
Scarlett shook her head, and Aisha said.
“We mostly lived on an island south of Vestina. But the Vestinians took over all the islands in the south, enslaving the people who lived there.”
“Oh…”
“Those who fled from it entered the islands of Salantier, where the Navy was weak. Since then, well, it’s been a war. The islanders and the outsiders who lived there.”
Scarlett nodded. Aisha continued.
“And then they were all about to die, so they made enemies out of the countryside. If the generals go to sea to pirate, there will be less fighting.”
“Well….”
“But I’m not asking you to understand the piracy.” Scarlett smiled and asked.
“What about the guy named Johnny?”
“Oh, thank God he is fine. He had two fingers cut off, but he almost died. I mean, he almost had his body axed in half, so he is fine.”
“That’s a relief…”
“For your information, it’s my brother,” Aisha said awkwardly.
“He’s not much of a man, but thank you for saving him.”
Scarlett smiled weakly at her words and lay back on the hay. Feeling cosy,
“What kind of medicinal substance is this?” Scarlett asked.
“Oh, this…”
Aisha coughed in vain and spoke quietly. “It’s… it’s something that gives you strength.”
“What strength?”
“The strength of the lower body.”
“Lower body?”
Scarlett tilted her head, and Aisha said. “Anyway, it’s a pretty good seller.”
“Oh… doesn’t my brother’s medicine sell well?”
“Not many people become blind.”
“What else do you have?”
“Well, there are many things. There’s hallucinations, sedatives…… some drugs help your memory.”
“…Memory?”
Scarlett paused and asked. “It’s good for your memory?”
“Yes, I remember everything I forgot when I ate it.” Scarlett’s face lit up at the words.
“I think I’ve taken that medicine before.”
“Really?”
“Yes! One day I lost my memory and came to my senses, and suddenly I remembered everything in detail when I was young.”
“Oh, losing memory is a side effect of the drug. You’ve taken too much.” At Aisha’s words, Scarlett looked indescribable. She said.
“There’s a drug like that…”
“Yes, there is.”
Scarlett was convinced, recalling the fact that she had no memory of being in the Royal Police Agency and the memories of her childhood since then became enhanced.
“Is there any way to check if you’ve taken the medication?” She asked.
“Uh… I don’t know the details. Do I need to know?”
“I want to know.”
I fell in love with this book when it was still ongoing and read it during COVID, anticipating each chapter’s release. I’ve been translating this book since 2020! I put a lot of time and effort over the years, hours on end manually translating and typing, and comparing with the original book so that my nuances are right, so that my translations are good (five years coming for TIDK).
Thank you so much for reading!! 💖 If you’re interested in reading ahead, you can support me by tipping me on Ko-fi, or subscribing (over 200+ chapters). I’m a solo translator for about 7 years now, and operate all the projects here by myself. I’ve had ups and downs over the years, and 2025 hit hard (both in my personal and professional life). I’d really appreciate your support—it motivates me! <3
I run this site ad-free, and these translations are kept alive out of my love for reading and sharing quality translations with you. Every bit of support helps with hosting, server, and domain costs. Thank you so much for keeping this project going!
