“Luna, you look great. That dress suits you very well.”
“Really? I’m glad. Richeli, I think this pale blue dress would suit you.”
“Really?”
“Yes, it will definitely suit you. Try it on.”
Being stared at with an excited smile by Luna Maria, I decided to change into the recommended dress after a bit of thought.
“How do I look?”
“Wow, as I thought, its perfect. You’re stunning. Here, see?”
Luna smiled broadly. I looked at Richeli in the mirror and naturally smiled.
The Richeli reflected in the mirror had grown much more mature than two years ago. Not only that, she had become even more beautiful.
Her translucent white skin, long limbs, abundant chest, and waistline were like a blossoming flower overflowing with sensuality.
It’s self-conceit to objectively admire that I’m beautiful. But I can’t help it. Beauty is beauty.
Even though this unfamiliar, beautiful figure of Richeli is apart from the beauty, it seems like this extraordinary body of Richeli is starting to feel more like me after two years.
Especially recently, my originally peach-coloured eyes have almost turned pink, which is something the Richeli didn’t have before reincarnation. Maybe that’s why even my face has a somewhat youthful and innocent atmosphere from when I was Rin.
“Right? Richeli, how is it?”
Luna Maria, who was smiling at me in the mirror, brought me back to reality and I quickly turned around.
Oh no, I can’t lose focus here.
“Yes, I like it. How about we go somewhere wearing this?”
“Eh?”
“How about the evening party Axel mentioned the other day? Let’s have a fashion show here today and decide on dresses, shoes, and accessories.”
“Oh! That sounds fun! I’m in!”
Miranda, who had overheard us, turned around with curlers still in her hair and exclaimed.
“I agree, too. Can we really borrow the dresses here?”
“Karina, of course you can. Choose whatever you like?”
“Wow, this is exciting. Sonia, Luna, you’ll do it too, right?”
Overwhelmed by Karina and Miranda’s sparkling eyes,
“Yes, of course…”
Luna and Sonia gave their modest approval.
Great!
Now Luna won’t have to worry about what to wear. With a sense of accomplishment, I wiped my forehead as if I had just finished a hard day’s work.
“Richeli? Are you here?”
With a bang, the door swung open without even a knock. A head of eye-catching ruby curls entered the room. Of all times, why did she have to come now?
“Long time no see, Eloise. How are you feeling?”
The others, presumably meeting Eloise for the first time, were likely taken aback by my respectful greeting.
“I’m not feeling good at all! Not in the slightest!”
Keeping my head bowed, I closed my eyes and tried to retreat into nothingness. Eloise really does have the habit of dropping by the Morgan house on a whim, making me kneel before her, and then leaving.
Thankfully, we only meet twice or thrice a year, but each encounter’s destructive power and fatigue are tremendous. The relaxation from the oil massage seemed to tense up instantly at her presence.
“I heard, Richeli. You’re currently attending a magic academy, aren’t you?”
“That is correct.”
I kept my head bowed, parroting her words as best as possible.
“Have you regained any of the magic power you lost?”
“No, I’m ashamed to say I haven’t regained any.”
“Is that so, huh?”
As she said this, Eloise glanced at the two girls standing next to her, a viscountess and a countess, who nodded in response.
I wonder if they ever get tired of this – being around such an arrogant person like Eloise.
“Richeli, why don’t you give up being Zinon’s fiancée? It’s far beyond your means to inherit the royal family’s strong magical lineage, especially when you have no power.”
“Indeed, but it is not up to me to reject it. The King, Queen, and the Crown Prince have not yet decreed it to be nullified.”
At my words, Eloise let out a frustrated sigh, her red eyes sparkling angrily as she bit her lip.
Ah… this is exhausting.
Doesn’t she ever get tired of having the same conversation over and over again? I’m completely fed up with it.
I realised that the best way to deal with Eloise, as written in Richeli’s diary, is to remain courteous, never deny anything, keep my responses short, and simply wait for her to finish talking.
This is the secret to weathering the storm in the shortest amount of time. I didn’t want to have to master this.
Even though it’s always the same, Eloise either doesn’t notice or care, and she leaves once she’s had her fill of ranting.
“Moreover, I heard you’ve been unfaithful lately. You’re shameless. A woman like you has no value in becoming Zinon’s wife; you should resign. Right now.”
“That was a misunderstanding caused by rumours due to my indiscretion. The Crown Prince has been informed of the circumstances and generously forgiven me. I apologise for causing you concern.”
The room was filled with a tense, crackling atmosphere, and I could feel Miranda and Karina shuddering with fear. I’m truly sorry.
Notwithstanding her social status, why does this 12-year-old girl have such an intimidating presence? I feel sorry for Patrick, who’s engaged to such a girl.
I kept my head bowed even more than usual, knowing that my pink eyes must be visible, trying to avoid eye contact with Eloise.
Whether she knew or not, Eloise didn’t mention my pink eyes. Did she want to avoid any topic that could be in my favour? Nevertheless, she frowned at me disdainfully and left.
When the door slammed shut with a bang, I collapsed on the spot, completely drained. Mira rushed over and embraced me.
“Richeli… you… you’re having a hard time.”
Miranda stared blankly at the closed door where no one was.
“Don’t worry, she’s only twelve years old. She can’t come to the evening party,” I managed to convey, barely catching my breath.
When I turned around, Karina, Luna, and even Sonia were frozen as if they’d been trapped in ice.
Seeing this, I couldn’t help but find it funny, and I laughed.
