[IFITAOAMV] Chapter 66
Since Angelina had lost her memories, everything must have felt like the first time for her. I had added the trip to the sea, thinking it would be her first experience. The thought of her experiencing something for the first time, along with me, gave me a sense of fulfilment.
There was also a surprise gift I had prepared but hadn’t told her about yet. What kind of expression would she make? She’d be surprised, right? She might even thank me.
And then, what should I ask for in return? Should I ask her to stroke my hair? Or maybe give me another kiss on the cheek?
As these thoughts ran through my mind, my gaze naturally shifted to Angelina’s face. My eyes slowly travelled down her face, stopping at one point.
My eyes fixed on her soft, pink lips. I absentmindedly touched my own lips with my fingers.
Touching her lips with my hand felt nice. But what would it feel like to touch them with my own lips?
My throat bobbed as I swallowed.
Unable to take my eyes off her lips, I felt a strange urge and slowly began to lean closer.
With every breath she took, her warm breath tickled the tip of my nose.
‘What exactly is my bride made of?’
Other people’s breathing usually annoyed me, making me want to get rid of them. But her breath relaxed even the sharp edges of my nerves.
Edwin inhaled deeply, his face now close to hers. A sweet scent like cotton candy drifted from her, the same scent as before.
For a moment, I felt a strong urge to taste every bit of her breath.
My head kept lowering, and just as our lips were about to touch—
“Mm.”
Angelina stirred and turned her head into my chest. At the same time, her lips grazed against mine ever so slightly.
“...!”
For a while, Edwin remained frozen, eyes wide open. Slowly, he raised his hand to his lips.
As his blue eyes regained focus, an odd light flickered in them.
“Time to wake up, sleepyhead.”
“Mm, just a little longer.”
After days of travelling in the carriage, my body felt heavy and exhausted. I burrowed closer into the warmth, only to feel a soft hand gently stroking my back.
“I was thinking we’d go see the sea today, but I guess not.”
“The sea!”
The mention of the day’s plans jolted me awake.
“Yes, the sea. But how can we go if you keep sleeping?”
Hearing his playful grumble, I lifted my head and realised Edwin was holding me.
“I’m up now! Let’s go see the sea!”
I quickly slipped out of his arms and dashed to the bathroom.
We were staying in a city in the southern region called Keitan. Edwin had been particular about our accommodations throughout the trip, so we had stayed in hotels most of the way. Even now, we are staying at the best hotel in Keitan.
I had been prepared to camp out on the road, so I had to admit I was grateful for his insistence.
After washing up with Jenny’s help and changing clothes, I emerged from the room, only to be scooped up into Edwin’s arms again.
“Let’s have breakfast outside today.”
I was a little surprised by the suggestion, but I had no other options, so I nodded in agreement.
As we descended to the hotel lobby, I noticed the atmosphere outside was much livelier than it had been the day before.
“Looks like something’s going on.”
“Is that so? Then we should check it out.”
It was unusual for someone who normally didn’t care about other people’s affairs to suddenly show such interest. Something felt off.
‘What’s this? Did he cause some kind of trouble?’
Just as I was starting to get nervous, the smell of grilled fish wafted through the air.
‘It wasn’t this strong yesterday.’
The thought crossed my mind just as I stepped out the front door, and my eyes widened.
The buildings, which had been clean and tidy yesterday, were now decorated with colourful paper and ribbons. The streets, once quiet, were now bustling with people, and smoke rose from various places.
“Ed?”
I looked at Edwin, silently asking what was going on, and he smiled mischievously.
“They're starting a festival today. We arrived just in time.”
“Did you stop here because of the festival?”
“It’s the Pellisena Festival, a fishing celebration, so there’ll be a lot of grilled fish to eat.”
“You like grilled fish?”
“What are you talking about? You’re the one who loves seafood.”
Edwin furrowed his brows as if it were the most obvious thing.
‘Did he really stop here for me?’
It almost felt like a dream, so I pinched my arm just to make sure. The pain confirmed that I was wide awake, and the scene didn’t change.
“Why are you hurting yourself?”
Edwin, displeased, gently massaged the spot I had pinched.
“I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.”
“Are you that happy?”
His face instantly brightened with pride.
“Then, give me some praise.”
