[IHTTMBW] Chapter 33

“Grandpa! So, are you going to teach Brother Euvil now?”

“Hmm, since Euphil also wants to learn the sword...”

“Don’t make a big deal out of it. Talents like me aren’t common, you know.”

Euphil raised his nose arrogantly with a haughty expression. However, the redness of his ears showed that he was secretly pleased about getting a swordsmanship teacher.

‘How cute...’

I’ve reached the point where even this little tyrant seems adorable. Who wouldn’t find a golden-haired boy blushing like that endearing?

It seemed Gelbart shared my thoughts as he burst out laughing. His face looked as if he was thinking, “Since when did this little one become so cute?”

“Ah!”

In the midst of the situation, Euphil let out a near scream. Gelbart, who had been walking towards Euphil, suddenly lifted him with his free arm while still holding me in the other.

“Put me down!”

“Wait a moment. Now, you must listen carefully to your master, right?”

“Put me down!”

...Hmm. The master’s words were completely ignored.

But as if expecting this reaction, Gelbart just chuckled and kept walking. Lifting two kids at once, even at his old age, was quite impressive.

And then, the words that stopped Euphil from struggling came out.

“While we’re at it, I’ll get you a tutor too. You can’t become an uneducated fool who only knows how to wield a sword.”

“I already have a tutor.”

“A tutor who only comes once a month can’t be called a tutor.”

“...”

Euphil fell silent, realising the truth in his words. I nodded enthusiastically in agreement.

“Right! He only comes once a month!”

“Quiet.”

“If that’s the case, he can’t be considered a proper teacher!”

Imitating Gelbart’s words, I nodded with exaggerated seriousness, making Euphil scoff in disbelief. He didn’t seem like a ten-year-old.

“Don’t be silly. Without the King’s orders, no teacher can be assigned.”

“No teacher?”

“No, no teacher.”

I inwardly clicked my tongue. What exactly is the King doing? Even if a prince wants to learn, he can’t because the King won’t allow it. No matter how you look at it, this was unfair. Especially since Euphil was such an exceptional talent.

At that moment, Gelbart, still holding both of us, started striding forward.

“That’s why you have your grandfather, isn’t it?”

“What are you going to do?”

“I’m going to play a little trick on your ignorant father.”

The ignorant father he mentioned was undoubtedly the King.

I widened my eyes. Lifting Euphil and walking somewhere with a purpose was entirely unexpected for me.

“How?”

The thought of tricking someone piqued my curiosity.

Gelbart ruffled my hair as he responded.

“Listen carefully, child. When you want to trick someone, all you have to do is disrupt whatever they’re trying to do.”

“I see!”

“Don’t teach her strange things.”

But despite saying that, it seemed Euphil was also curious about what Gelbart was planning. That’s probably why his previously wriggling body suddenly stilled. Although he still seemed annoyed about being held like a child. We were currently standing in Gelbart’s estate, which was close to the main palace where the King resided. This proximity was due to the frequent visits of distinguished guests to the palace. However, when the King granted Gelbart this estate, he likely never anticipated that something like this would happen.

As we passed through the garden where hydrangeas were in bloom and walked along the path filled with the fragrance of flowers, Gelbart reassured us with a look that seemed to say, “Just wait and see.”

When we finally arrived at the main palace, a guard courteously greeted Gelbart, who informed him that the King was currently in a meeting. The guard’s implication was clear: bringing children into the palace at such a time would not please the King.

Euphil nodded calmly as if he had expected this. It was as though he knew that even if it weren’t during a meeting, the guard had been instructed to block him from entering the main palace. Watching this scene made my anger surge.

Just as I was about to say something, Gelbart was quicker, smiling as he said:

“Well, that’s perfect.”

“Pardon?”

The response came slower than his actions. Before the guard could react, Gelbart pushed him aside and still holding us, kicked open the door to the meeting room.

Bang!

The loud noise startled the high-ranking officials inside, who turned to look at us in shock. Indeed, it was unprecedented for anyone to make such an entrance before the King during a meeting.

But then again, this was our great uncle. Even Euphil was wide-eyed with surprise, staring at Gelbart.

The King, frowning at the sight, half-rose from his seat.

“What is the meaning of this?”
