168 – Aisha and Johnny
Then Aisha rubbed her neck and said as if it was cumbersome.
“I repeat, my brother is a useless man who can’t do anything. Look at him crawling into the shredder without knowing anything.”
Then she continued with a look of embarrassment somewhere.
“But my late mother would have appreciated it, so I’ll pay you back. What do you think? What do you need in return for that medicine?”
”Information about the drug.”
“All right.”
Aisha answered readily. Then, she lightly stepped on the wall of the barrel and ran up to get out of there.
Scarlett’s eyes were wide open at the sight, so she tried but couldn’t climb a bit because it was slippery.
Aisha, who escaped the barrel, pulled a dagger out of her waist and said,
“That mechanic lady is the one who saved my family. If there’s anyone who puts a finger on her, be prepared to give up your neck.”
Then she dragged Johnny, bandaging his fingers, to the front of the barrel and sat down.
Johnny flopped in front of her and said, “You’ll have to fight me.”
The pirates stepped down after each brother and sister announced their intentions. Fighting this brother and sister duo would do more harm than good.
Meanwhile, Sean, who ordered Scarlett’s abduction, was confused by this unexpected variable. He couldn’t let her go easily since he had already dragged her here. It was not expected what Viktor Dumfelt would do after Scarlett was sent back.
Sean recalled Viktor Dumfelt, who was beckoning to explode a pirate ship with a nonchalant face aboard the Rubied.
He couldn’t decipher what he was thinking. The pirates, recalling Viktor Dumfelt on the sea, felt very confused when they encountered him off the ship.
He thought he couldn’t be said to be a decent human being. But when he was in the capital, he was a gentleman. It was unclear how he would relate to his ex-wife, but it was clear that she was closer to his family than his parents anyway.
No matter how much this woman betrayed him, he was sure Viktor wouldn’t turn a blind eye to her honour.
When Sean first saw Scarlett’s face in the newspaper and kidnapped her, he intended to kill her. And he was determined to avenge Viktor Dumfelt, the captain of the Rubied, who drove his clan to death.
But Harold was right. If he touched Scarlett wrong, even the remaining pirates were in danger of being exterminated by his hands.
Sean regretted kidnapping Scarlett in a fit of anger, but under the circumstances, he had to produce the best results somehow.
Sean, looking outside, was watching the Navy surround the factory. The shooters of the Rubied were pointing guns.
Sean said with a curse word. “First, get Scarlett Crimson.”
“Aisha…”
“Bring her back somehow!”
The young men rushed into the factory as Sean shouted. But persuading Aisha was no ordinary thing. Johnny was instantly attached to Scarlett, who had just saved his life.
The young men who followed Sean said.
“We don’t want to mess with that mechanic lady.”
“Right, Aisha. Sean said he’d just negotiate and send it back. What do you think Viktor Dumfelt would do after killing that lady in the first place?”
“If you don’t negotiate now, you can’t go back and stay here. There’s no way the mechanic would want that.”
“We can be nice to them.”
“So you want me to stay here? Ask yourself.”
Then Aisha made a face and asked Scarlett behind the barrel. “Mechanist, Lady! Why don’t you keep living here!”
“I’m sorry, but I can’t…”
Aisha looked unhappy at Scarlett’s answer. But she didn’t want to keep Scarlett here.
“Take her, but I’ll kill you if you do anything,” Aisha said with a frown.
Johnny nodded behind Aisha’s threat.

It was quite fortunate for Viktor that Harold’s group, which played a significant role in the anti-piracy sweep, initially kidnapped Scarlett. If other pirates, who were hostile to the Navy, had taken her, only fragments of her body would have returned to Viktor.
Upon confirming this, Evan promptly headed to the newspaper office. His intention was to discover who had placed Scarlett Crimson’s picture and her location in the newspaper. The advertisement article included her image and mentioned that she resided on the second floor of the watch store. It also indicated her last name as “Dumfelt” at the time of her marriage. This incident constituted an indirect murder orchestrated by the pirates.
In contrast to the leaders of other pirate groups, Harold seemed willing to sacrifice his life, while Sean Westland was both strong and weak. Nonetheless, the exchange of hostages required a considerable amount of time and effort, making it a preferable strategy for the pirates.
Viktor had been observing the situation without uttering a word for some time. As Viktor remained silent, Sean erupted with a shout, “Let us use the drugs, too.”
“…”
“Otherwise, this woman will never return, Viktor Dumfelt.”
Viktor gazed up at Scarlett, who was in a perilous position. Moments later, he finally spoke, “We have hostages on our side, as well.”
I fell in love with this book when it was still ongoing and read it during COVID, anticipating each chapter’s release. I’ve been translating this book since 2020! I put a lot of time and effort over the years, hours on end manually translating and typing, and comparing with the original book so that my nuances are right, so that my translations are good (five years coming for TIDK).
Thank you so much for reading!! 💖 If you’re interested in reading ahead, you can support me by tipping me on Ko-fi, or subscribing (over 200+ chapters). I’m a solo translator for about 7 years now, and operate all the projects here by myself. I’ve had ups and downs over the years, and 2025 hit hard (both in my personal and professional life). I’d really appreciate your support—it motivates me! <3
I run this site ad-free, and these translations are kept alive out of my love for reading and sharing quality translations with you. Every bit of support helps with hosting, server, and domain costs. Thank you so much for keeping this project going!
